What the record says
Ipamorelin: selectivity for growth hormone is the documented feature
In rat pituitary cells the compound released growth hormone with potency and efficacy close to GHRP-6, and in anaesthetised rats and conscious swine it tracked GHRP-6 closely on both measures.
Eur J Endocrinol 1998;139:552–561 ↗Unlike GHRP-6 and GHRP-2, ipamorelin did not raise ACTH or cortisol above the levels seen with GHRH stimulation — and that held at doses more than 200-fold above its ED50 for GH release.
Eur J Endocrinol 1998;139:552–561 ↗Those selectivity figures come from a 1998 pharmacology paper in cells and animals. A 2026 Sports Medicine review of approved and unapproved peptides lists ipamorelin in the unapproved group and says rigorous human safety data are scarce.

Compared with CJC-1295 no DAC 5 mg: CJC-1295 no DAC is the nearest match — both act on the GHRP receptor, both in the same vial format. The documented difference is duration: the CJC-1295 trial reported an estimated half-life of 5.8–8.1 days.
