What the record says
Clomiphene: two human trials, one with a side effect worth reading
In a 12-week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 78 men aged 36.5 ± 7.8 years with obesity and secondary hypogonadism, clomiphene raised total and free testosterone, estradiol, LH, FSH and SHBG (all P < 0.001) and improved lean mass, fat-free mass and muscle mass.
Int J Obes 2018;42:953–963 ↗In the same trial HDL cholesterol fell significantly (P < 0.001), and no statistically significant difference was seen in endothelial function.
Int J Obes 2018;42:953–963 ↗Two phase 3 studies of the S-enantiomer, enclomiphene citrate, found testosterone, LH and FSH rose while sperm concentration stayed in the normal range over 16 weeks — where the gel form did not maintain it.
BJU Int 2016;117:677–685 ↗
Compared with Ipamorelin 5 mg: Ipamorelin is the nearest match by presentation — a research vial from the same supplier line. The records are not comparable: clomiphene has two human trials in men, ipamorelin's selectivity profile comes from cells and animals.
